Bear Weekend 2017, and more
Wednesday, 7 June 2017

Good evening!

I know that by the time you read this, the voting is long over... in the Golden Handbags... and likely the other thing, too! I write just a few days before the award ceremony, and am avoiding optimism (in the other thing, too) but here's hoping!

If you see this before Sunday 11th June, and are aiming to visit on said night, be aware that Subline will be attending the awards, and will open at the later than usual time of 11pm.

The biggest, most imminent thing hitting Brighton (except the other thing, sigh) is BRIGHTON BEAR WEEKEND 2017! A festival of all things manly; the hirsute, the muscled, the chubs, and the chasers!

It brings near-Pride crowds to our humble door, so don't delay in buying one of their lovely wristbands (we still have some available here, at £6) for discounts, queue-jumps, and more.

Thursday 15th is their Quiz Night down the road; and after Subline's victory in the Golden Handbag quiz, it would be complacent not to enter (and win) this one too! Sadly, this means we'll be open slightly later than usual, at 11pm.

Friday 16th they have their official opening parties elsewhere (boo, hiss ;) ) but we'll be expecting quite the crowd anyway. Open from 9pm, with DJ Screwpulous providing tuneage; entry is £3 for members, £5 for non-members.

On Saturday 17th it's SUB-WOOFER. We open at 10pm, DJ Bozzybear is in charge of the dancefloor, and entry is £5 with a wristband, £7 without. Wristband wearers also get £1 off a pint (Coors Light and Stowford Press only, sorry!) If there's a queue like previous years, it'll be run on a 2-tier basis; with wristband holders coming to the front.

The weekend closes with Sunday's UNDERBEARS PARTY. It is strongly recommended, but not compulsory, that you get your kit off for this one! Doors open at 10 again, Screwpulous is on the decks, and entry is £4 with a wristband, £6 without. Discounts and queue-jumps are the same as Saturday night.

All door money from Saturday and Sunday (as well as proceeds from the wristbands, and the t-shirts & polo shirts for the event, which we have for sale here) will go to the Rainbow Fund.

The following weekend is hardly more sedate; Friday being FILTH, the pan-sexual extravaganza brought to Subline by Kitten Skye. This month's theme is 'carnival.' Sunday 25th rounds off the month's "events of note" with DJ Nude's CUM IN YOUR PANTS, the compulsory underwear party.

Hopefully there'll be something to tickle your fancy among these, and we'll see you very soon.
